A USD 250 million loan agreement was signed between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank [ADB] for the construction of the Tbilisi Bypass Road. The document was signed by the Minister of Finance of Georgia and the Director of the ADB Permanent Mission in Georgia.

Within the framework of the project, the construction of an approximately 19-kilometer, four-lane road section of the Tbilisi Bypass Road, equipped with a median barrier, is planned.

"An agreement was signed between the Government of Georgia and the Asian Development Bank, which provides for the allocation of USD 250 million in funding for Georgia, designated for the Tbilisi Bypass Road. Specifically, for the construction of a 4-lane, modern infrastructure.

This includes various components, both in terms of safety and the implementation of modern systems. The ADB is traditionally a leading financial institution for Georgia, having invested more than USD 6 billion in the country. In this regard, it is very important that the bank continues to actively invest in various projects in Georgia, which practically cover all the priority areas that the Government of Georgia has in terms of infrastructure and various sectoral fields", - said Lasha Khutsishvili.
