The National Food Agency is testing melons and watermelons on the consumer market for nitrate content.
As of today, within the framework of the state control monitoring program, 50 samples of watermelons and melons have been taken from various retail outlets nationwide and tested in an accredited laboratory. According to the research results, the nitrate content does not exceed the limit established by law (watermelon – 60 mg/kg, melon – 90 mg/kg).
Taking into account the season, the National Food Agency will regularly conduct testing of melons and watermelons on the market.
