Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, responds to opposition speculations regarding the detention of Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Sadigov, specifically, claims that his court hearing was allegedly held at four o’clock in the morning.
Archil Gorduladze describes the disseminated information as a lie and a malicious act, stating that the journalist was detained at 22:00, while his lawyers dragged out the process until 5 o’clock in the morning for various reasons.
“For several days, there have been claims that Afgan Sadigov’s trial took place at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning. Upon investigation, this part of the campaign appears to be inaccurate. What occurred was that Sadigov was detained at approximately 22:00 in the evening and taken to court. The legal proceedings lasted over 5 hours due to various requests from the defense, such as postponements and time to review materials. Claims that the trial was intentionally held in the middle of the night are described as false information”, - writes Archil Gorduladze on the social media.
