As a result of a police operation, officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 5 people on charges of drug-related crimes.
They are accused of illegally purchasing and storing a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs and facilitating their sale. Among the detainees are both Georgian and foreign citizens.
As a result of searching personal belongings and search held in residential homes of the accused persons, as well as during the investigative experiment, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs prepared for sale from the places indicated by them as evidence, including: “Methadone”, 112 pills containing “Buprenorphine” and “Marijuana”.
In order to expose certain detainees, the police replaced a parcel sent to them and seized a particularly large amount of drugs as evidence. As a result of the investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the criminal act of the detainees was confirmed.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 260-4 and 19-260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
