The United States seeks constructive relationship with Georgia - US Department of State

For 33 years, the United States has been the partner of choice for Georgia and the Georgian people. We remain steadfast supporters of Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, reads the letter, sent by the US Department of State in response to a written inquiry from TV “Formula”.

“The US seeks a constructive relationship with Georgia. The peace agreement brokered by President [Donald] Trump between Armenia and Azerbaijan offers transformational opportunities for the entire South Caucasus. Georgia can both contribute to and benefit from the stability and prosperity that this agreement enables.

We will continue engaging with the Georgian government on issues that impact our bilateral relations and the political climate in Georgia.

We will also consider concrete steps that the Georgian government may take to strengthen relations between our countries and demonstrate a serious commitment to progress”, - reads the letter.
