Georgia would achieve the highest economic growth in the Caucasus next year, with a projected rate of 5.4%, significantly outpacing neighbouring countries and other Eastern European economies, reads the “World Economic Situation and Prospects 2026 report”, issued by the United Nations.

“Strong economic trends observed in 2025 are expected to continue, positioning Georgia ahead of its neighbors in terms of growth… Tourism and construction were key drivers of Georgia’s economic activity in 2025”, - reads the report.

UN experts predict that in 2026, Georgia will lead the Caucasus region in terms of economic growth. As they forecast, Georgia’s projected growth rate of 5.4% will exceed that of Armenia (4.8%) and Azerbaijan (2.7%), making it the fastest-growing economy in the Caucasus.

Comparisons with other Eastern European nations show an even wider gap, with Georgia’s growth nearly double that of Ukraine (2.3%) and Moldova (2.5%).
