The trial of former Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze and his co-defendants is underway at the Tbilisi City Court.

Today, the parties will deliver their opening statements, after which it will be determined whether the case will be transferred to the court for substantive consideration. The state charges Juansher Burchuladze with abuse of official authority and legalization of illegal income, which resulted in the receipt of a particularly large amount of income. The crime is punishable by 9 to 12 years of imprisonment.
