Employees of the Migration Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with the relevant units of the Ministry, have deported 26 foreign citizens from Georgia over the past few days.
Those deported include citizens of India, Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, China, Cuba, Nigeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Cameroon and Pakistan.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies defines the identification and deportation of foreign citizens residing in Georgia without legal grounds through intensive immigration control and other measures.
