Georgia expresses support for Ukraine on all international platforms, as it should be, we consider the Ukrainian people as friends. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi, while talking about the supported by Georgia UN resolution calling on Russia to return Ukrainian children who have been forcibly taken.
“I will not repeat what our attitude has been toward Ukrainian citizens living in Georgia, or the benefits and assistance they received here - this is how it should be.
We consider the Ukrainian people our friends, and it pains us to see the situation they are in today. It is unfortunate that several campaigns were carried out, including calls for Georgia to become involved in this disaster.
If it were not for our firm position and effective political steps, Georgia would likely face the same difficult situation. I believe this criticism comes from informal rulers who issue directives, use the Ukrainian government and European bureaucrats, and attack the Georgian people and our sovereignty”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
