Cultivation of anti-Russian sentiment in Georgia is an artificial process driven by the deep state and its local agents - Kobakhidze

Prime Minister of Georgia said that the cultivation of anti-Russian sentiment in Georgia is an artificial process driven by the "Deep State" and its local agents.

"Following Russia`s 2008 occupation of Georgian territories and its recognition of Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia as independent states, the same forces had welcomed Russian tourists at the border and supported Russian involvement in strategic sectors of Georgia`s economy.

Clearly, in accordance with the instructions of the "Deep State", the cultivation of anti-Russian sentiment in Georgia by its agents is an artificial process aimed at fueling extreme hatred between the two nations, undermining economic relations, and escalating tensions to the highest possible level.

Despite the misguided policies of the [former] United National Movement government and the Russian authorities - political issues to be addressed by politicians and state institutions - both Georgian and Russian societies should exercise particular caution to ensure that, intentionally or unintentionally, they do not act in the interests of the Global War Party", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
