A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Georgian Bar Association. The document was signed by CEC Chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili and the Association’s Chairperson David Asatiani.

The memorandum aims for the parties to cooperate and support informing and raising awareness among the Association’s members regarding the introduction of innovations and electronic technologies in electoral processes, which is crucial given the rapid pace of technological advancements in the modern electoral environment. The memorandum foresees cooperation in planning and implementing joint activities. According to the memorandum, the parties will collaborate in organizing and conducting elections of the governing bodies within the Association using electoral technologies.

“We have signed a memorandum with the Georgian Bar Association, which provides a solid foundation for deepening and strengthening institutional cooperation.

Within the framework of this cooperation, we will have the opportunity to participate in various educational and technological activities. This partnership will also enable us to share experience and provide appropriate technological support, allowing the institution to administer corporate elections effectively and at a high professional standard”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

“We are pleased that today we signed a memorandum of cooperation with the CEC, which will enable the Bar Association, as an independent self-governing body, to conduct the upcoming corporate elections at a higher level, efficiently, transparently, and fairly, with the CEC’s support being crucial in technological and technical terms. We hope to hold exemplary and model elections in the history of the Bar Association”, - said David Asatiani.

The parties signed the memorandum of cooperation today at the CEC.
