Police seized large quantities of drugs in Tbilisi, worth approximately 3 million GEL on the so-called black market

Officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized 35 kilograms of the "marijuana" packed in 146 packages, the total value of which on the so-called black market is approximately 3 million GEL.

A citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I.I., born in 1993, has been arrested on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a large quantity of drugs.

Law enforcement officers seized a large quantity of the "marijuana" and materials necessary for packaging the drug from a special hiding place set up in the detainee"s home.

The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment. The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
