Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance arrested E.A., a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1988, on charges of illegal purchase, storage and import into Georgia of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The committed crimes envisage up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Law enforcement officers seized pills containing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as evidence during the inspection of the defendant"s hand luggage at Tbilisi International Airport.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 261, 262 and 263 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
