Two Turkish citizens detained on the fact of selling large amount of counterfeited excise marks

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained two Turkish citizens on the fact of selling large amount of counterfeited excise marks.

Investigation determined that accused persons, in order to illegally obtain material benefits, sold 2 000 units of Georgian counterfeited excise marks in exchange for payment of USD 1 000. As a result of investigative activities, counterfeited excise marks were completely seized.

Investigation is underway under Part 2 of Article 2001 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from four to six years
