We hope that ongoing decline currently affecting the European space, particularly in terms of democracy, human rights, and the economy, will be reversed – Kobakhidze

We hope that the ongoing decline currently affecting the European space, particularly in terms of democracy, human rights, and the economy, will be reversed. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Fundamentally, there is a grave injustice evident in this document. It presents distorted facts, which will be subject to public interpretation. Overall, this document reflects the tragic circumstances developing within European bureaucracy.

The consequence of this tragic situation, the erosion of sovereignty, is evident in the EU’s economic decline: once accounting for 30% of the global economy, its share has now fallen to 17.5%, and this figure continues to decrease each year.

This current crisis is manifested in both the economic and political issues that the EU faces today, largely as a result of the loss of sovereignty within European institutions. We sincerely hope that this dire situation will change and that the ongoing regression in democracy, human rights, and economic stability within Europe will be reversed. Our goal is to join a reformed, revitalised EU, not the EU as it exists today”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
