Nikoloz Samkharadze meets with a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea

Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze met with a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations between Georgia and Korea, including the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and exchange visits.

The parties discussed trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as issues related to cooperation in the tourism sector.

Particular attention was paid to the introduction of a visa-free regime for Georgian citizens traveling to Korea, which would contribute to the development of tourism between the two countries. The situation in Georgia’s occupied regions was the main topic of discussion during the meeting.

Following the meeting, Nikoloz Samkharadze said that members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea were interested in the types of assistance provided by the state to internally displaced persons.

The Committee Chair briefed the delegation members on state support provided to internally displaced persons. According to him, people who have fled Ukraine and are currently in Georgia also receive the same assistance.

Nikoloz Samkharadze also introduced his counterparts to the state programmes available to the population living in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. During the meeting, N. Samkharadze also spoke about the cases won by Georgia in international courts, “Georgia v. Russia.”
