The Economic Policy Committee heard the activity report 2024 of the National Statistics Office, introduced by the Executive Director, Gogita Todradze.
The reporter reviewed specific directions and fields and highlighted the activities undertaken during the reporting period. He stated that there are 213 employees in the Office. Last year the Sakstat, to ensure the national census, engaged 12,300 freelancers with a total salary of 8 million GEL.
The Sakstat has implemented numerous activities for the establishment of the innovative approaches.
"During the reporting period, the conditions for data collection improved, and the transition to a fully electronic model was completed. Through active cooperation with international partners and in line with modern standards, the Office developed a strategy and an action plan outlining in detail all the activities that will continue in the coming years. In 2024, to raise public awareness, Sakstat conducted an active information and promotional campaign, implementing around 60 activities in this regard. During the reporting period, various innovative products and new services were introduced within the agency, which will further facilitate public access to statistical data", - he reported.
The Office also issued over 200 press-releases and developed 16 various statistical reports. Speaking about the plans, the reporter accentuated the significance of the public awareness and trust-building. After the report, he answered the questions. "The Committee gives a positive assessment of the report and considers it expedient to submit it to the plenary session", - Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Committee noted.
Giorgi Kakauridze, the First Deputy Finance Minister, reviewed the Loan Agreement between Georgia and ADB, signed on October 6, 2025, envisaging the allocation of 306,5 million EURO for the construction of Batumi-Sarpi highway. The loan shall be consumed on the construction of the last section of the Batumi detour. As for the terms, the loan, issued with the period of 25 years (with 6 years preferential) shall be refunded by 2031.
The Committee approved the documents.
