Police in Adjara arrested 2 persons on charges of fraudulently appropriating large amounts of money belonging to citizens

As a result of complex operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 2 persons on charges of large-scale fraud committed as a group: R.K., born in 1980, and I.L., born in 1979, who has a previous conviction.

The committed crime envisions up to 9 years in prison.

The investigation established that the defendants, at different times in Adjara, fraudulently concluded purchase agreements with persons interested in purchasing real estate and in this way acquired a large amount of money belonging to citizens - a total of 148,042 US dollars.

The investigation is underway under Article 180, II and III parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
