As a result of operational measures and investigative actions jointly conducted by officers of the Adjara Police Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, an Israeli citizen, I.R., born in 2008, was arrested at Batumi International Airport on charges of illegal purchase, storage and importation of a particularly large amount of psychotropic substances into Georgia.

The committed crime envisions up to 12 years of imprisonment.

As a result of the investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers, including a search of the accused`s luggage, 1,120 pills of the psychotropic substance "Pregabalin" were seized as evidence. The police arrested I.R. as an accused.

The investigation is underway under Articles 261 and 263, Parts III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
