As a result of a joint operational measure and investigative actions, officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance arrested A.O., a foreign citizen born in 2001, on charges of drug trafficking.

He is charged with illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of narcotics and illegal import of a particularly large amount of narcotics into Georgia.

The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Law enforcement officers at Batumi International Airport, as a result of search activities of the detainee`s luggage, seized a particularly large amount of up to 4 kilograms of the narcotic substance "tetrahydrocannabinol", disguised in a liquid soap package.

The investigation is in progress under Article 260, Part III, Subparagraph "a" and Article 262, Part IV, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
