The harvest is underway in Kakheti. Around 3 000 grape growers have delivered their grapes to wine enterprises. As of September 18, more than 50,000 tons of grapes have already been processed. According to preliminary data, 200-250,000 tons of grapes should be harvested in Kakheti this year.

By decision of the Government of Georgia, this year, surplus grapes will be purchased by the state-owned enterprise LLC "Harvest Management Company" at differentiated prices based on quality: Saperavi grapes harvested in the Kakheti region – at 1.50 GEL per kg / Other permitted wine grape varieties defined by the Georgian Law "On Vine and Wine" – at 1.20 GEL per kg / Non-standard/damaged or diseased grapes – at 1.00 GEL per kg.
