The Ministry of Internal Affairs [MIA] issues a statement regarding the detention of Elene Khoshtaria.

“Employees of the MIA have arrested Elene Khoshtaria, born in 1979, on charges of property damage.

According to the investigation materials, on September 14 of the current year, the accused person damaged the election banners of the Tbilisi mayoral candidate of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party on Melikishvili Avenue, Tbilisi.

The investigation is in progress under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to damaging or destroying property. The committed crime envisions up to 5 years of imprisonment”, - reads the statement.
