As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti District Prosecutor"s Office, criminal prosecution was initiated against two entrepreneurial entities on the facts of fraudulent misappropriation of a large amount of funds belonging to the state.

Investigation determined that, the accused persons on behalf of the companies under their control, concluded state procurement contracts in 2025.

In order to gain illicit material benefit, the accused persons provided low-calorie and inexpensive dairy products to kindergartens located in two municipalities of the Samegrelo region, instead of supplying the dairy products as stipulated in the contract - thereby deceitfully misappropriated approximately GEL 20,000.

Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type and extent of sentence, envisages imprisonment from six to nine years.
