Migration Department employees detained 13 foreign citizens

As a result of close coordination between the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and relevant units of the Ministry, as part of the complex measures taken in recent days, 13 foreign citizens were detained.

The mentioned persons are the citizens of Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, India and Turkey. It was determined that they were in the country in violation of the requirements established by the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify foreign citizens who reside in Georgia without legal grounds and to carry out their expulsion from Georgia.
