Police officers of the Khelvachauri District Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Adjara Police Department have arrested 2 citizens of Ukraine on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and attempted sale of particularly large quantities of narcotics as a group.

The charges carry potential sentences of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Law enforcers seized narcotic substances placed by the defendants at 12 different locations for distribution.

Besides, from another location, 20 packages of narcotic substances prepared for sale, placed in a polyethylene bag, were also seized.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260 Prime of the Criminal Code of Georgia [illegal drug offenses].
