President of Ukraine stated that the Donbas issue will be the central issue during trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, which will take place in the UAE on January 23-24.

“The Donbas issue is key. It will be discussed, and the modalities will be discussed, as the three parties see it in Abu Dhabi today and tomorrow”, - Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

He reported that he had spoken with the head of the Ukrainian negotiating group, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustam Umerov, both overnight and in the morning before the talks, and that he would be briefed on the progress of the consultations and possible agreements.

According to Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian delegation also includes Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitsky and diplomats. It was previously reported that Ukraine would be represented in Abu Dhabi by Rustam Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, his first deputy Serhiy Kyslytsya, head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov.

Zelensky also stated that the main agreement with the US on security guarantees is ready for signing, but technical details need to be finalized: “We’re ready to sign. I’m waiting for Trump to confirm the date and location”.
