The Special Penitentiary Service [SPS] of Georgia responds to the information, spread about the health condition of Elene Khoshtaria, "Droa" leader. As the agency says, there is no deterioration of any kind in the health status of convict and she is fully provided with all necessary medical services.

"The SPS is responding to misinformation spread by Shota Tutberidze, legal counsel to Elene Khoshtaria, regarding an alleged worsening of the convict`s health condition.

E. Khoshtaria is held at the No. 5 Women’s Penitentiary Institution, where she is provided with all appropriate conditions and enjoys unimpeded access to all services, including medical care.

The absolute majority of E. Khoshtaria`s diagnoses were established before her admission to the facility. These constitute chronic conditions characterised by periodic flare-ups. She has voiced no complaints or dissatisfaction to the medical staff. She is provided with all necessary medical care, and there has been no deterioration in her health.

A cardiologist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, gynaecologist, psychiatrist, and rheumatologist consulted the convict. She has undergone numerous diagnostic tests, including an MRI scan of her spine and spinal cord.

The convict`s most recent consultation with a rheumatologist took place on June 5, 2026, following which recommendations were issued and appropriate tests performed.

Treatment was subsequently prescribed in strict accordance with current clinical guidelines and protocols. Since the day of E. Khoshtaria`s admission to the facility, neither the convict nor her legal counsel has submitted any requests regarding alternative medical services or additional diagnostic testing. Furthermore, the convict refused a follow-up consultation with the rheumatologist. Her next consultation is scheduled for today, June 17, 2026, to which she has raised no objections.

The SPS responded properly to the request submitted by her lawyer, immediately providing him with information regarding the inmate’s health. Regarding requests for meetings, the legal counsel of E. Khoshtaria, or indeed of any other remand prisoner or convict, enjoys unimpeded access to meet with both the Director of the penitentiary facility and the medical personnel responsible for their treatment. The SPS reiterates its readiness to facilitate any further meetings.
