Political parties are trying to prevent the development of a healthy political and democratic system in Georgia, constitutional measures are necessary to counteract these efforts – Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Georgia accused certain political parties of obstructing the development of a healthy political and democratic system in the country, stating that constitutional measures were necessary to counteract these efforts.

"Our nation yearns for peace, the restoration of its democratic foundations, and the legal action we are preparing, based on the findings of the investigative commission, serves precisely this aim.

In the coming days, everyone will see that the lawsuit is being prepared and will soon be submitted to the Constitutional Court. Our country needs peace; it requires the renewal of its democratic order, and this constitutional lawsuit is a vital step in that direction.

You are aware that some political parties within our system are persistently working against democratic principles, with every action aimed at destabilising the system.

They are trying to prevent Georgia from establishing a robust and healthy democratic environment, and addressing this challenge requires us to act through constitutional means. This is exactly what the forthcoming lawsuit, which will be filed with the Constitutional Court, embodies", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
