Georgia has joined France`s initiative to establish a European coalition against drugs. The declaration was signed by Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia.
The event, held in Copenhagen within the framework of the 7th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), was co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The Head of Government of Georgia participated alongside leaders of various countries.
The Prime Minister highlighted the strict policy of the Government of Georgia in the fight against drugs. Irakli Kobakhidze noted that, over the past several months, Georgian law-enforcement officers have seized particularly large quantities of narcotic substances and arrested several dozen major drug traffickers.
The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of joint efforts by world leaders and international cooperation for an effective fight against drugs. He stated that France’s initiative to create the European coalition against drugs is an important step forward in this direction.
