President of Georgia attends opening of 80th UN General Assembly General Debate

President of Georgia attended the opening of the General Debate of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, where he is set to deliver an address to world leaders on Thursday.

The debates were opened by UN Secretary General António Guterres and the President of the 80th Session of the General Assembly.

Speeches were also delivered by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, US President Donald Trump, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, etc.

The theme of this year`s session is "Together is Better: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development, and Human Rights". Mikheil Kavelashvili attended the meeting together with the Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and ambassadors. High-level bilateral meetings are planned during the visit. The President will hold a meeting with the UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
