The US Defense Threat Reduction Agency has handed over several dozen routers to the Operative-Technical Agency of Georgia in order to develop the corresponding network across 35 sectors of the state border of Georgia.

The Operative-Technical Agency [OTA] of the State Security Service of Georgia continues to set up a high-speed fiber-optic network infrastructure along various sections of the state border to improve border security.

In order to develop the corresponding network across 35 sectors of the state border of Georgia, the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) handed over several dozen routers to the OTA.

Beka Mamardashvili, Director of the OTA, thanked David Kennedy, Head of the Caucasus Regional Office of the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency, for the provided support and years of successful cooperation.

Within the framework of the high-speed network development project, the OTA has already set up fiber-optic network infrastructure along several sections of the state border.

It is worth noting that in February, 2026, the Agency carried out a pilot installation of a backup satellite internet network at the "Lekisqure" border sector of the Border Police, which significantly improved information management processes. Currently, procurement of several dozen more satellite internet devices and accompanying services is underway, within the framework of which a high-speed network will be deployed across 35 border sectors.
