The Standing Commission, established on the basis of the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, destroyed 626 kilograms of narcotics seized from illegal circulation seized as a result of investigative measures carried out at various times throughout Georgia. The total cost of the destructed drugs amounts to approximately 19 million GEL on the so-called black market.
Employees of the Forensic-criminalistics Department destructed a particularly large amount of various types of narcotic drugs in a special high-temperature furnace (incinerator) of modern standards, including: Cocaine, Heroin, Methadone, MDMA, Alpha-PVP, Ketamine, Amphetamine, Cannabis, THC, Clephedrone, Buprenorphine, Tramadol, Codeine and Marijuana. Psychotropic and new psychoactive substances were destructed as well.
In accordance with the existing legislation, the process of drug destruction, which was carried out in accordance with the latest environmental standards, was carried out in accordance with the current legislation, in presence of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, members of the Standing Commission, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection.
