The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze held a working meeting with Anna Rich, the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to Georgia.

The parties reviewed the reforms implemented and the progress achieved by the Ministry in combating illegal migration in recent years. The discussion also touched upon the legislative changes regarding the procedure for the applications on international protection, as well as existing challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the UNHCR Representative for the organization's long-standing contribution to strengthening the Ministry's institutional capacities and expressed hope for continued successful cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Sophio Imerlishvili, Director of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
