Speaker of the Georgian Parliament speaks about the externally directed processes against the Georgian Church and states that this is in fact a “religious war” to replace the spiritual pillar of Georgia, and similar processes have been going on for 22 years.

"The goal is the same as it started 22 years ago, in the 2004 interview with the Patriarch, which I published on social media yesterday. At that time, when the National Movement was the new government, the Patriarch warned us about what we were dealing with. Then there was an anti-church campaign that was directed from the outside.

We have been observing this for 22 years, which has its own goal, and the goal is to discredit the organization that is the spiritual pillar of the Georgian people.
