The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songhulashvili, introduced Levan Jgharkava to the employees of the State Laboratory of Agriculture as the institution’s new Director.

The Minister congratulated Levan Jgharkava on his appointment and wished him success in his new position: "We have ambitious plans for the future, the implementation of which requires changes and new approaches. Levan Jgharkava has many years of experience working in the public sector, including in leadership positions. I am confident that his experience and professional knowledge will make a significant contribution to the further development of the State Laboratory of Agriculture".

David Songhulashvili thanked the former Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, Irakli Guledani, for his work and contribution. According to the Minister, Irakli Guledani`s professional experience and contribution to the development of the Laboratory are highly valued. Accordingly, he will continue his professional activities within the Ministry’s system.

Levan Jgharkava has many years of experience in the public sector. Prior to his appointment as Director of the State Laboratory of Agriculture, he headed the Department of Environmental Supervision. At various times, he served as Director of the Tbilisi Municipal Development Fund, Head of the Tbilisi Municipal Inspection, Head of the Didube District Administration, and Director of Tbilservice Group LLC. The new head of the Laboratory thanked the Minister for the trust placed in him and noted that he would actively work toward achieving the set objectives, which would contribute to the further development of the State Laboratory of Agriculture.

The State Laboratory of Agriculture operates through 13 laboratories across Georgia and offers customers nearly 500 types of laboratory tests. The Laboratory continuously introduces modern research methods, expands its laboratory capabilities, and works to improve the quality of its services.
