Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 5 people at different times on charges of illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large amounts of narcotic drugs, illegal planting and cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs, as well as facilitating illegal sale.
During the personal search, and search activities held in residential apartments of the defendants, as well as from various places indicated by them, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs as evidence, including: heroin, methadone, tetrahydrocannabinol, herbal cannabis, raw and dried marijuana.
The police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic drugs. The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 260-4 and 265-1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
