Amagnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Türkiye`s eastern Erzincan province on Friday afternoon, with authorities confirming no casualties or property damage as field screening operations continue, writes Türkiye Today.
The earthquake occurred at 2:16 p.m. local time with its epicenter in the Kemah district near Hakbilir village. The tremor struck at a shallow depth of approximately 4.52 km.
The earthquake was also felt in the neighboring provinces of Tunceli, Gumushane, Elazig and Bayburt, causing brief panic among residents.
Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydogdu announced via social media that no loss of life or property occurred: "Thankfully, there is no loss of life or property in the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Erzincan Kemah. May Allah protect our nation and our fellow citizens of Erzincan from all disasters and calamities. Get well soon, Erzincan".
