The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Mykhailo Fedorov as Minister of Defense of Ukraine. This marks the fourth time Ukraine has been appointed defense minister since the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, writes v-variant.com.ua.
This was announced on January 14 by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
A total of 277 MPs voted to appoint Fedorov as Minister of Defense of Ukraine. All factions represented in the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of this decision.
Fedorov himself declared in the Verkhovna Rada that he does not want to be a populist, but a realist, and that the Ministry of Defense falls into his hands with a minus 300 billion hryvnias, 2 million Ukrainians wanted, and 200,000 have voluntarily left military units.
