I appeal to the residents of capital who have the opportunity to temporarily leave Kyiv, where there are alternative sources of power and heat, to do so - Klitschko addresses the population

At least four people were killed in Kyiv after Russia launched a major offensive across Ukraine with drones and missiles. A total of 278 missiles and drones were fired by Russia overnight, according to Ukraine’s military, which said it downed 244 of them in flight.

Around half a million residents in Kyiv have been left without power as a result, the capital’s Mayor said. As Vitali Klitschko added, nearly half of Kyiv’s apartment buildings - almost 6,000 - were without heat due to damage to critical infrastructure, and that there were also disruptions to the city’s water supply.

“We are doing everything we can to do this as quickly as possible. But the combined attack on Kyiv last night was the most painful for the capital’s critical infrastructure facilities. I also appeal to the residents of the capital who have the opportunity to temporarily leave the city, where there are alternative sources of power and heat, to do so”, - said Klitschko.
