The Prime Minister of Georgia delivered a speech at the plenary session of the international forum “Peace and Trust: Shared Goals for a Sustainable Future” in Turkmenistan.
"It`s an honour to be here, at this important forum dedicated to the International Europe Peace and Trust recommendation established by the UN at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the Government of Turkmenistan for a steadfast commitment to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and constructive engagement at both the regional and global levels.
The theme of our session – Peace and Trust, a unity of goals for a sustainable future, resonates deeply with Georgia`s will and its foreign policy priorities. Today more than ever, the global community faces complex challenges, ranging from geopolitical tensions and armed conflicts to climate change and economic instability.
In this context, the principles of peace and trust are not just ideals, but the most essential tools for ensuring global stability.
Living with the reality of the ongoing occupation of our two historic regions, Georgia views peace, not merely as a policy choice, but as an existential priority.
Georgia has maintained a stable economic growth trend for several consecutive years. In 2021-2024, Georgia recorded one of the highest economic growth rates in the world - an average of 9.8%!
Per capita GDP in USD has doubled and increased even more compared to 2020. It is expected that the high economic growth trend will continue in the coming years, as confirmed by assessments by reputable international financial institutions", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
