Georgia, among 91 countries, backs UN Resolution urging Russia to return abducted Ukrainian kids

The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution during a special emergency session, demanding that the Russian Federation immediately and unconditionally return all Ukrainian children who have been illegally transferred or deported since the start of the war.

Supported by 91 countries, including Georgia, the resolution’s sponsors encompass the US, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland.

The nations backing the resolution urge Moscow to “ensure the immediate, safe, and unconditional return of all Ukrainian children who have been forcibly transferred or deported”.

12 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Iran, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Mali, voted against the resolution. 57 countries, including China, India, Brazil, and Armenia, abstained.
