Adjara police seized large amount of psychotropic substances - 2 foreign citizens detained

Employees of Batumi Police Division under Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested citizens of the Republic of Turkey: A.Ch., born in 1998, and E. S., born in 1988, for illegal, purchase and storage of psychotropic substances in a particularly large amount, committed in group.

The committed crime envisions up to 12 years of imprisonment.

Law enforcement officers stopped the defendants while they were moving on Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway. As a result of the personal search and belongings as well as vehicles, the police seized capsules containing the psychotropic substance "Pregabalin" in a particularly large amount as evidence.

Investigation is in progress under Article 261 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
