Prime Minister, members of the Georgian Government attended a concert of the State Chamber Ensemble of Georgia in Rome

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia together with members of the Government, attended a concert by the State Chamber Ensemble of Georgia at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, held in connection with the Vatican’s Jubilee anniversary.

The program featured Georgian hymns, folk songs and choral works by Georgian composers, including compositions by His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. The Patriarch`s Ave Maria was performed by Yano Alibegashvili together with the choir.

The concert also featured composer Zviad Bolkvadze and choirmaster Giorgi Donadze. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, in cooperation with the Georgian Embassy to the Vatican.

The Vatican Jubilee is celebrated in Rome once every 25 years and has been observed since 1300.
