Numbers invariably reveal whether society is being deceived or misled. Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said this while commenting the European Commission`s [EC] Autumn 2025 Economic Forecast.

"Recently, the EC published an enlargement report, which notably refrained from assessing Georgia`s economic trajectory.

In truth, this report does not accurately reflect the true state of our country`s economic profile.

Just a few days later, however, it released forecasts on the economic outlook for candidate countries, presenting a completely different picture. The prospects for Georgia are very clear.

This is particularly significant in the context of enlargement. Without economic strength and development, no country can have a realistic discussion about EU membership.

When we talk about joining the EU, a country must possess this core economic strength to remain competitive and to carry out the reforms necessary for accession.

To suggest that economic strength is unimportant or has no impact would be naïve, especially considering that without economic development and resilience, no nation can hope to stand alongside existing EU member states and join the Union. This has immense significance. It reaffirms once more that Georgia is moving in the right direction, and will be the most prepared for EU membership by 2030", - said Maka Botchorishvili.

The European Commission`s Autumn 2025 Economic Forecast indicates that Georgia’s economy is expected to maintain strong growth, exceeding 7% in 2025 at 7.3%, before slowing to between 5% and 5.5% in 2026 and 2027.
