A fire broke out at a cosmetics factory located on Mimar Sinan Street in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Dilovası district in Kocaeli around 09:00 on November 8. Upon notification, a large number of fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the area. The fire was extinguished with the intervention of the firefighters.

According to the preliminary report prepared regarding the cause of the fire, it was stated that an explosion and fire occurred due to static electricity discharge or electrical contact ignition during the transfer of alcohol to the boiler.

In the fire, six people lost their lives. One person was seriously injured, and 7 others were taken to hospitals for treatment after the intervention of the health team.
