As a result of immediate operational-search measures and investigative actions jointly conducted with the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey, officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested I.M., born in 1990, who had been convicted of multiple crimes in the past. He is charged with inflicting less severe damage to health on purpose and illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of firearms.

The committed crime envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the accused person, on the basis of a conflict that started in Batumi over a domestic issue, shot A.A., born in 1981 in the lower limb and fled the to the direction of Sarpi border checkpoint with the intention of fleeing the country.

The wounded man was hospitalized, where he received appropriate medical assistance. His life and health are not in danger.

As a result of immediate operational-search measures carried out jointly with the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey, officers of Adjara Police Department detained I.M.

The investigation is underway under Articles 120 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
