Two children were killed in a shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis Wednesday, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said, writes CNN.

They were eight and 10 years old, according to O’Hara, and their parents have been notified.

The shooter is dead, law enforcement officials said. Children ages 6 to 14 are being treated for injuries at a Minneapolis-area health care system, with some in critical condition.

Officials say the shooter fired through windows at people sitting in pews, injuring at least 17.
