Didgoroba is a symbol of the national strength, struggle for Georgia`s reunification and victory – Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Georgia delivered a speech on the occasion of the Didgoroba celebration, stating that Didgori was a symbol of the Georgian nation`s unwavering spirit, unity, and victory.

"Today we celebrate one of the most glorious dates in our history - Didgoroba. This day is a symbol of the unyielding spirit, unity, and victory of the Georgian nation. In the history of every nation, there are dates that fundamentally determine its future.

August 12, 1121, is precisely such a date for us. This was not only a military success. It was the ultimate victory of the idea of the Georgian state and, at the same time, of the Christian values on which our entire culture and history are based. In a numerically unequal battle, the strategic vision of David the Builder, the dedication of the warriors, and the unity of the nation created the Wondrous Victory, which not only brought freedom to our country but also laid the foundation for Georgia`s Golden Age - political, economic, cultural, and educational revival - and turned our country into the most powerful state in the region", Kobakhidze noted.

The main lesson of Didgori for every generation is unchanged - when a nation is united for a common goal, driven by faith in its own truth, and has a worthy leader, there is no obstacle it cannot overcome. In today`s world, full of challenges, we are reminded of the wise words of His Holiness - Didgori is yet to be won.

Today, our modern Didgori is the struggle for the final reunification of the country and the strengthening of its sovereignty.

We still have to fight for the consolidation of our country`s independence and for the protection of those Christian values on which not only our identity but also the entire European civilization has traditionally been and continues to be based. This struggle requires the same unity, wisdom, and devotion to the homeland that our great ancestors demonstrated nine centuries ago. I am confident that with our unity and this spirit, we will definitely achieve our historic goal. Congratulations on Didgoroba", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
