Tbilisi Police prevented an attempt to distribute up to 4 kg of “Alpha-PVP” in the country. The value of the narcotics on the so-called black market amounts to GEL 1.5 million.

A foreign citizen has been detained on charges of attempting to illegally purchase and store an especially large amount of narcotics, attempting illegal transportation, and attempting to facilitate illegal distribution.

The detainee planned to distribute narcotics sent from a foreign country. According to the criminal scheme, he intercepted the parcel at a parking lot, after which he attempted to leave Tbilisi. The police stopped the man at the exit of capital, while he was traveling by car.

“As a result of comprehensively conducted investigative actions, up to 4 kg of the narcotic substance “Alpha-PVP” was seized as material evidence, the market value of which on the so-called black market amounts to approximately GEL 1.5 million. The investigation established that the detained individual planned to distribute an especially large amount of narcotics sent to him from abroad in a disguised manner. According to the criminal scheme, the narcotics were supposed to be received at a parking lot in Tbilisi. As a result of operations promptly carried out by the police, the receipt of the narcotics by the addressee was intercepted, after which the said individual was detained within the framework of a controlled delivery”, - said Vazha Siradze, Director of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
