The day will come when there will be peace in Ukraine, we all want to live in a time that is not historical, but simply peaceful, quiet, and safe - Zelenskyy

Today, Ukraine celebrates its 35th anniversary of independence. In connection with the jubilee date, European leaders arrived in Kyiv. The capital of Ukraine was visited by the leaders of Great Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Moldova, and Luxembourg, as well as the President of the European Council.

The President of Ukraine addressed the population and spoke about current challenges and plans.

"Over these 35 years, we have heard many predictions about ourselves. And almost all of them proved wrong. They said the state would not make it, that we would not withstand the upheavals. And on February 24, they said we would hold out for only a matter of days. But we have held out all this time – all this time of the war for independence. The fight for it – the fight for the freedom of all previous generations – was so desperate that some people around the world called us "crazy people." Ukrainians, however, always did everything so that one day we could say: "My God! We’re free people!"

Thirty-five years ago, that day came. And the day when there will be peace in Ukraine will also come. We are all human. We all want to live through times that are not historic, but simply quiet, peaceful, safe times. In a peaceful Ukraine. A Ukraine that made it. That stood its ground. That preserved itself and its independence. That is what we are fighting for. That is what we stand for. With faith in one another, in our defense forces, in our state", - said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
